Seamless Gutter Materials

If you are feeling overwhelmed by all of the options for seamless gutters don't worry. During your consultation we consider your budget, function, aesthetic and then work with you to determine the most suitable seamless gutter style and material for your home.

Seamless Gutters: Materials

Aluminum

White aluminum gutters are standard, but we carry aluminum seamless gutters in a variety of colors, which can beautifully compliment your home. Our colored gutters have a baked-on finish that will not oxidize as fast as other traditional gutters, ensuring that your system will be functional and long lasting.

Our different colors can be mixed and matched to fit the design needs of your home. We can match complimentary colors throughout your gutter system and install a gutter run and elbows with your trim color connected to downspouts to match the siding or brick color of your home.

Copper

Copper gutters create amazing curb appeal and can add retail value to your home. When it's new, the copper has a gold metallic color, but it will eventually form a patina and become a dark brown/green color, creating an antique or vintage style look. Properly maintained copper gutters have a long life span, from 50-150 years, which is longer than any other gutter material on the market. Most other materials last for around 10-30 years. As beautiful as copper gutters are, they aren't for everyone as they are most often used on historic and high-end homes. Brick, stone, stucco, wood, and slate accented homes also look good with a copper gutter system.

It's important to keep in mind that copper gutter systems change color when they are exposed to the elements, reacting with carbon dioxide, oxygen, moisture and pollutants, which leads to the copper having a tarnished, darker appearance and after a few years, the tarnish will darken into a brown or black. In a more salty atmosphere the copper forms a green patina. When there's contact with carbon dioxide, a copper carbonate forms and when either of these reacts to acidic rain or sulfur, a green patina forms as a protective barrier against further corrosion and rust. Copper gutters are very durable in all weather, making them less likely to weaken and are available in a half-round or a k-style in 5" or 6".

Galvalume Plus Steel

Galvalume gutters have a similar aesthetic as galvanized, but have a more dull appearance and feature a longevity that rivals copper at a more affordable price. Galvalume is durable with a modern, refined appearance with a gun-metal finish that doesn’t fade in the elements. With proper maintenance, Galvalume can last as long as copper in many of the same environments and has a more neutral and natural appearance.

Galvalume gutters are made of a steel substrate and coated in 55% aluminum and 45% zinc. The steel strengthens the gutter, making it durable and the zinc and aluminum coating protects the steel rust. Keep in mind that rust can still form on the edges, but once the rust makes contact with the aluminum it will stop.
